Steps Hyacinthe Bambara

Working as well with tropical wood from the Sahel or the coast of the Gulf of Guinea as with saponin stone harvested in my father's village, I started by sculpting small “tourist works”. I want to find the spirit and wisdom of my ancestors through Art. I do an artistic research of more personal works, trying to transform the material, giving it a body, a spirit... and above all a wisdom... Playing with the raw mass of the material, the size and the polishing, wisdom makes its way in a sparse setting, perhaps in the image of our world...
